Oakland Music Matters is a 501(c)(3) formed to carry Harmony Project Oakland forward and make room for more Oakland-rooted music programs under one banner.
Our story
OMM keeps the Oakland work close to Oakland.
Harmony Project Oakland began in 2020 and has grown through relationships with East Oakland families, schools, libraries, community spaces, teaching artists, and volunteers.
The OMM structure gives that work a dedicated local nonprofit home while preserving the core promise: free, sustained music learning for young people who would not otherwise have access.
